Get CPSGT Certified! The Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) is an entry-level certification earned by individuals new to the sleep field. The CPSGT certificate is valid for three years and cannot be renewed. Within that three-year window, CPSGTs are expected to earn the RPSGT credential.

To become CPSGT-certified, you must have the necessary educational and/or clinical experience, hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or its equivalent, adhere to the BRPT Standards of Conduct and pass the CPSGT exam.

Exam Blueprint

The CPSGT examination consists of 75 multiple choice items. Of these, 60 items count toward the candidates’ scores and 15 are pretest items that are not scored.

General Knowledge Required: Medical terminology, safety, verbal and written communication skills, ethics, patient confidentiality, basic patient care and emergency procedures, basic math skills and basic calculations, basic knowledge of computers.
