For candidates who hold an active RPSGT credential, have recertified at least once, and have completed a CCSH STAR Designated Education Program within the past 3 years.

Clinical Experience
Candidates for Pathway 1 must:
- Have a minimum of 1,000 hours of cumulative direct experience in clinical sleep health that includes education, counseling, management, and coordination of patient care and outcomes.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or above. International equivalents in the form of tertiary/post secondary education or qualification are accepted.
- Have a current CPR/BLS certification for healthcare workers that meets the most recent AHA Guidelines or international equivalent. Certification must include a live skills component (in-person or hybrid; mannequin-based skills testing accepted). The American Heart Association’s RQI certification is acceptable. Online-only certifications are not accepted.
Submit:
- Verification of clinical experience hours on the application. Clinical experience must be validated and approved by a clinical manager, sleep medicine practitioner, or a certified clinical sleep health (CCSH) specialist.
- Proof of education in the form of an official transcript, diploma, letter, or certificate from the education provider. Only the highest education level attained is required.
- Documentation of current CPR/BLS certification for healthcare workers that meets the most recent AHA Guidelines or international equivalent. Certification must include a live skills component (in-person or hybrid; mannequin-based skills testing accepted). The American Heart Association’s RQI certification is acceptable. Online-only certifications are not accepted.

Healthcare Credential
Candidates for Pathway 2 must:
- Hold a current healthcare credential found on the List of Approved Credentials for CCSH Pathway 2. International equivalents are accepted, including tertiary/post secondary education or qualification in the absence of other regulation.
- Have an Associate’s degree or above. International equivalents in the form of tertiary/post secondary education or qualification are accepted.
- Have a current CPR/BLS certification for healthcare workers that meets the most recent AHA Guidelines or international equivalent. Certification must include a live skills component (in-person or hybrid; mannequin-based skills testing accepted). The American Heart Association’s RQI certification is acceptable. Online-only certifications are not accepted.

Active RPSGT Credential Holders
Candidates for Pathway 3 must:
- Hold an active RPSGT credential that has been recertified at least once.
- Have completed a CCSH Designated STAR Education Program no more than 3 years prior to submitting an exam application.
- Have a current CPR/BLS certification for healthcare workers that meets the most recent AHA Guidelines or international equivalent. Certification must include a live skills component (in-person or hybrid; mannequin-based skills testing accepted). The American Heart Association’s RQI certification is acceptable. Online-only certifications are not accepted.
Submit:
- Proof of completion and receiving a passing score of a CCSH Designated STAR Education Program in the form of a certificate and score report.
- Documentation of current CPR/BLS certification for healthcare workers that meets the most recent AHA Guidelines or international equivalent. Certification must include a live skills component (in-person or hybrid; mannequin-based skills testing accepted). The American Heart Association’s RQI certification is acceptable. Online-only certifications are not accepted.
